SOFT ENAMEL KEYCHAIN
The materials for the soft enamel keychains are generally used in brass, iron, zinc alloy, …etc. Among them, brass is the most used one, and its surface has obvious bumpy feel and good texture, which is suitable for the production of some medium and high-end key chains. The surface of the soft enamel keychain can be covered with a layer of transparent protective resin (Epoxy), the surface will be bright and smooth after the glue is applied, and it can also protect the color of the soft enamel. The soft enamel keychain has bright colors, clear lines and strong metal texture. The price is slightly cheaper than imitation hard enamel key rings. It is the first choice for making mid-to-high-end key rings.
NOTES:
To avoid colors mixed, enamel area must be surrounded by metal lines min. 0.3mm

Mould:
Molding the metal surface to form the design
Outline cutting:
- Cutting molds are made separately, then cut to the exact outline of the design
- Depending on the complexity of the design, additional outline cutting moulds may be required
- If a center-hole or cut-out is required, an additional cut-through mould must be used
Polishing:
The metal surface is polished until it is smooth and shiny. This applies to copper material only.
Iron can be polished if required.
But this will incur a surcharge.
Plating:
Plating now can be processed. The quality of plating varies with the time that metal is soaked in the plating liquid.
Coloring:
- Soft enamel is carefully hand-filled one color at a time by using different sized syringes.
- Drying
- To prevent defects, a high degree of skill is required in orer to keep each color and the correct amount of enamel in the proper area
Cleaning:
Excess color and impurities are then wiped off from the metal surface.
Baking:
The metal piece is baked at approximately 230℃ (450℉) for 12 to 15 minutes
Epoxy coating:
Clear epoxy (dome) is then applied to the surface to protect the enamel from color fading and cracking (apply for epoxy coating is optional)

You may find that there are some badges in our website have similar looking but have been named differently in soft enamel or imitation hard enamel. You may have a question in your mind: what is the difference between them?
The most difference between soft enamel and hard enamel is the texture.
Soft enamel is laid in the recessed areas and put through ovens to bake it hard. When dry the enamel clings to the edges and recessed below the metal die line. This gives the soft enamel the ‘bumpy’ feel when you run your finger over the top.
Imitation hard enamel – also called new enamel, it raises the enamel higher after baking so can be polished flat to the same level as the metal die lines. The enamel gets a polished look to a very high quality. For the flat surface, client can choose to add printing onto the surface as well, but no epoxy is available for new enamel.
Due to plating process, there are some plating colors which are not available for imitation hard enamel such as brass plating, imitation gold plating and rainbow plating.

For small quantity orders, we offer transfer in express such as DHL, UPS, FedEx, TNT or EMS. For large quantity, air cargo and sea cargo are also available.

You may offer your ideas of what you want to show on your product and we will recommend the best production options according to your requirement. After that we will send you revised artwork for checking details. Once everything is confirmed, we can run on productions.
